We viewed the video and discussed what needed to be fixed for our presentation. We found another video to add that shows both sides of the issue. We also wrote out what each of us are saying during our presentation so we know exactly how it is going to go and in what order we are presenting our videos and saying our parts. I put together our works cited and read over my part and our presentation is tomorrow :)

group project
December 7, 2009- 1.5 hours
We wrote the script together as a group so we could get started on the video. So prior to writing it we came up with a story line and added some statistics that would benefit our point. Once the script was complete we began shooting the video. We had to do multiple takes since we obviously can't do it perfect the first time. Then we gave all the takes to Tierney so she could go into imovie and edit them to as close as perfection as possible.

Project
December 1st, 2009-1 hour
We all met in our study lounge and discussed all the information we got separately and combined all of it. We talked about how we were going to begin the script for our commercial and what separate aspects we need to incorporate into the commercial for us to be able to get our message across effectively. We will be meeting again tonight where we will actually begin writing our script and choosing what music to put in it to help support our message.

learning styles
When I took the first learning styles quiz my results were 60% auditory and that came as a shock to me. I see myself as a visual learner. I see myself as that type of learner because I much rather have written directions for anything as opposed to having someone tell me. I think i retain information better that way but my test results seem to disagree. I think my results came up that way because I love music and a lot of the questions dealt with listening to music and I rather do that than anything else.

group project 3

Today we looked at different examples of ad campaigns to get ideas for our project. There were many ads that were appealing to me because they all gave a lot of helpful information. But in the end I chose a reckless driving campaign. This ad showed many different forms of media within their website and I got a lot of great ideas from it for my project. I liked the statistics they added at the bottom of each page and the background color is different from the rest of the site so it really catches your attention. I also liked their use of a video and then also a video of real stories. The regular video shows you the problems teens face everyday within a car and the real life video is an actual example you can relate to emotionally.

Today we wrote our proposal and assigned our "jobs" to everyone in the group. I will be in the commercial and helping to write and edit the script. We are creating a commercial and providing a video that supports out views on the H1N1 vaccine. We are against it and there are many supporting sources that we have available to us that we can use to help get our message across.

We looked at different public service announcements to find good ways to go about our project. We looked at different types of media that are available for us to use. We looked at youth reckless driving.
I really liked the statistics at the bottom of the website. It showed how real this issue is and how many people it truly affects each day, month, or year.
I also liked the real story videos. I realize this is almost impossible to do for our project, the harmful effects of the H1N1 vaccination, but it definitely allows your audience to see first hand what could happen to them.
